Charing Business Association - Committed to the Community

The Charing Traders Association CTA launched officially on Wednesday 4 February 2009. Many retailers in and around the High Street are combining forces and expertise to promote Charing's versatility in shops and outlets - everything you need, right at your door-step.

The main goals of the Charing Traders Association were:

1. To promote Charing village shops together for mutual benefit
2. To address the parking problem in and around the High Street
3. To use collective power to 'bargain' with councils and other authorities: e.g. for roadside signage

During further meetings this year the members discussed and agreed it would beneficial to formalise the ‘Charing Traders Association’ with the objective being to strengthen their presence and enable them to develop a larger association that could represent the interests of all businesses within Charing. It was therefore agreed to:

• Change the name to ‘Charing Business Association’
• Charge Members £25.00 per annum to join
• Use membership fees to promote Charing and the Association for the benefit of all members
• Have a small committee of individuals who are committed to the Association, can meet regularly and who can represent all the Charing businesses

Promoting Charing for the benefit of all
The objectives of the Charing Business Association will be to promote Charing for the benefit of all of the community. This is translated in CBA's strapline: Committed to the Community.

The current committee is:
