Rehearsals are well under way for the Guild Of Players' next production,
Alan Ayckbourn's brilliant comedy, Absent Friends which takes to the stage of
The Church Barn from
Thursday May 6th until Saturday May 8th. Curtain up at 7.30pm.
Tickets, priced at £6, can be obtained from Wood You Like in School Road from Thursday April 22nd - although Friends of The Guild may purchase theirs from Monday April 12th. Booking can also be made by phone on 01233 713725 (during opening hours of the showroom) although tickets must be collected and paid for (cash, exact change please, or by cheque) in advance of the performance.
Later in the month, in a collaboration with The Lenham Players, there will
be a production of Alan Bennett's Habius Corpus. This will be performed at
Lenham on Friday and Saturday May 14th and 15th and
in The Church Barn the following week on the 21st and 22nd.
Tickets for the Lenham performance can be obtained by calling 01622 858561 (£8 each) or the Charing performances by calling 01233 631559 (£7 each). The show is being produced as a tribute to the late Peter Goldsmith who directed a number of shows for both drama groups and a percentage of the box office will be donated to Cancer research.
