Charing Heath Village Society AGM

Charing Heath and Lenham Heath Village Society Annual General Meeting (AGM)
on 11th February at 7.30pm in the the memorial hall, Charing Heath.

Followed by a guest speaker on Hothfield common.

At the AGM we will be discussing the village events for this coming year. However to give you a taster there will be events like, bluebell walk, bat and trap & picnic - June, village fete - July, frog racing and halloween night in Hurst woods.
These events are open to all locals and are a good opportunity for people in the community to get together

The Village Society has been going for over 30 years and was set up by villagers to bring the community together, its a not for profit group which wants to encourage people in the villages to get together.

Boniface Class at Charing School would like to thank everyone who supported their very successful "Help for Haiti" fundraising morning last Friday. Over £420 was raised!

Tickets: £ 7.00 (£5.00 children)

Select, collect and pay your tickets from "Wood You Like" (Brenchley Mews, School Road) - as long as there are seats available (please note the opening hours)

Kind request to those who already reserved their seats: collect and pay for your tickets as soon as possible.

Message for former Bizy-Charing members

Dear members of Bizy Charing.

Unfortunately this organisation now seems to be defunct. Many previous member contributed a small amount of money to the kitty which now amounts to £384.00

As there is a new Charing Business Association would you be agreeable to the money being passed on to them? If you have any questions please let us: Karin Hermans at info@wood-you-like.co.uk or Kirsten Moon at kirsten@moon-and-co.co.uk, know by 14 February 2010.

Unless we have objections the money will be passed over after this date

Charing School into Fashion

Charing School PTFA invites you to a ladies' & children's fashion show in the school hall on Thursday 4th February.

Doors open 7pm, show starts at 7.30pm.

Tickets, priced £3.50 are selling fast & are available from Richard's Butchers shop, the Post Office, & the school office.

Free drink on arrival. Chocolate hamper to be raffled.

All clothing available to buy on the night - huge bargains from well known high street stores.

Picture this - new feature

Latest addition to the Charing website: Charing in pictures (idea triggered when we received a snowy picture of Charing's High Street on a quiet Sunday morning).

The plan is to fill the "gallery" with more lovely pictures of what's going on in lovely Charing, from scenic views to all the activities in and around the village.

Send your image in, email it to info @ wood-you-like.co.uk, add a little story to it to be published underneath your picture and it will be seen on the Gallery as soon as possible.

Over to you now, get the cameras out!

Are you entitled to priority bookings for Treasure Island?

Little note from the Charing Guild of Players:

Members and friends of the Guild are entitled to priority bookings for the coming "Treasure Island" production.

Priority bookings start on Monday 4 January. You can either buy your "priority" tickets during rehearsals that week or call Val Parson on 01233 631559 to reserve your seats.

After 18 January everyone will be able to get tickets from "Wood You Like" (Brenchley Mews, School Road) - as long as there are seats available (please note the opening hours)
