The Charing Parish Council Newsletter is always filled with snippets of achievements and activities from/in the village.
September's issue is not different:
- In the "Actions with Communities in Rural Kent's" yearly "Village of the Year Competition" Charing received the following certificates:
Commended Certificate in the "Business and Communications category"
Very Highly Commended Certificate in the "Community category"
The winning village was Minster in Thanet - Hanging Baskets/Tubs competition winners this year:

Best Overall: Mrs G Martin - A reminder that Parish Council meetings are open to all and take place on the second Tuesday of each month in the top room of the Parish Hall at 7.30pm
- The main fundraising event for Charing Christmas Lights will be held on Friday 4th December and Saturday 5th December.
Friday night is "Magical Evening". More details will follow as soon as possible. A big thank you to the "Ladies of the Lights" their for their ongoing relentless efforts to turn Charing in a delightful Christmas spirit ever year. - "HandyVan Service" introduced by KCC Community Warden, which provides peace of mind to older people making their homes more safe and secure.
